Marking the 98th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the seminar “Liepāja and Hamburg: the Port Cities in a New Splendour” dedicated to culture tourism was organised in Berlin, accompanied by a concert of Liepāja String Quartet and a diplomatic reception.

During the seminar, the director of the Latvian Institute Aiva Rozenberga introduced the audience with the projects and culture programme scheduled for the celebration of the Centenary of Latvia in 2018. Meanwhile, the representative of Liepāja region Tourism information office Inta Šoriņa and the art director of the newly built concert hall “Great Amber” Baiba Bartkeviča presented the facilities of the building and the concert programme for the next year and informed about the new cultural tourism opportunities in Liepaja and its surroundings. Also, Elita Kuzma, the ambassador of the Republic of Latvia in Germany, and Wolfgang Schmidt, the Representative of the City of Hamburg, greeted the audience.
